Where to start with your table décor?
We all love having guests over and show off our cooking skills, but there’s always an element of hesitation – how exactly should I set up the table? You already have an eye for beauty and table décor, but let’s make it even better with the correct way of laying out your tableware.
The most basic way is the way we usually set it up – for everyday dinners with the family. You can’t go wrong here. It’s very easy and simple, but still elegant. If you have the right tableware, it’s enough to create a beautiful table décor.
For some of you this is obvious but not for everyone so let’s go through it! We start with the plates, on the left side of the plates we place a fork, on the right side a knife with a blade facing the plates and of the right side of the knife, a spoon. The napkin usually goes on the plate or on the left side of the fork. In this variant we only have one glass (water, wine or whatever you fancy), which should be placed over the gap between a knife and the plates.
Tip:
All of the cutlery should be placed 1 inch from the edge of the table and from the plate.
It is a very basic set up, but these subtle changes make your table look much more elegant.
